Application of “cement basket” technology for repair-isolation work to improve oil recovery efficiency at fractured basement reservoir in Nam Rong-Doi Moi field
Abstract
Most major oil fields in Cuu Long basin are currently in the declining production phase with high declining rates and rapidly increasing water cut. IOR is, therefore, the main research topic for well productivity index and production optimisation of fractured basement reservoirs (which have been contributing 1/3 of the total oil production in Vietnam).
The paper presents the water isolation by “cement basket” technology which has been successfully deployed in Nam Rong - Doi Moi field and can be applicable to other wells having similar geological conditions/production performance characterisation to improve production efficiency.
